New York Islanders assistant general manager Ryan Bowness is one of the few names on a shortlist for the Vancouver Canucks vacant general manager position.
He’s had a second interview, per Cam Robinson, which The Hockey News can confirm:

The 42-year-old served this past season as an Assistant General Manager to first-year general manager Mathieu Darche, while also serving as his Director of Player Development.
Bowness goes way back with Jim Rutherford, the Canucks team president. He served as Rutherford’s pro scout in Pittsburgh and was part of their Stanley Cup-winning season back in 2016 and 2017.
We’ll see who the Canucks ultimately go with. If Bowness does get their general manager gig, Darche will have to be on the hunt for his replacement…unless Matt Martin is ready for an increased role after serving as Darche’s Special Assistant this past season.
