Detroit Red Wings forward Lucas Raymond has been among Sweden’s best players on the international stage the past few years and has provided his nation with a boost by committing to this year’s World Championship, according to multiple Swedish media outlets.
This will be the fourth year in a row Raymond has appeared in this event. He has 11 goals and 28 points in 28 games in three previous World Championships, helping Sweden win the bronze medal in 2024 and 2025.

This year’s tournament runs from May 15-31 in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.
Raymond is the second Red Wing to commit thus far, joining defenseman Albert Johansson on Team Sweden.
Raymond was Sweden’s leading scorer at this year’s Olympics with nine points (one goal, eight assists) in five games, ending with a 2-1 overtime loss to the United States in the quarterfinals.
Raymond, 24, was on pace for his most productive season until the Olympic break. He wasn’t as effective down the stretch, however, with six goals and 16 points in the final 24 games.
He finished with 25 goals and 51 assists in 80 games.
