The Carolina Hurricanes remain undefeated in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, having gone a perfect 8-0 through the first two rounds thanks to Saturday evening’s 3-2 series-clinching victory over the Philadelphia Flyers.

Jackson Blake scored his second goal of the game at the 5:31 mark of overtime, punching Carolina’s ticket once again to the Eastern Conference Final, where they advanced in 2023 and 2025 before being defeated by the Florida Panthers, who didn’t make the playoffs this year.
The Hurricanes are having some fun at the expense of the Flyers on social media, as they posted a photo of a sad-looking cheesesteak with the caption: “Do you want it wit or witout tears?”
“Wit or witout” is a popular way to order a cheesesteak in Philadelphia, indicating one wants or doesn’t want onions. Given that Philadelphia is known for cheesesteaks, the Hurricanes are taking special care in rubbing in the loss.

Blake, who played the role of hero for the Hurricanes, credited his teammates for setting up his game-winning goal.
“A lot went down on that goal,” Blake said via NHL.com. “Slavo (Jaccob Slavin) makes an unbelievable play. Then Stanks (Logan Stankoven) middle-lane drives and pushes those two defensemen back. Hallsy makes a play that not a lot of people can make there. Fortunately, I got the bounce, and it went in.”
The Hurricanes will now await the winner of the series between the Montreal Canadiens and the Buffalo Sabres, which is currently tied at one game apiece. The Sabres won the series opener by a 4-2 final, only to see Montreal come back and win Game 2 in emphatic fashion, 5-1.
