Maple Leafs Announce Several Roster Additions Ahead of Game 5

The Toronto Maple Leafs have announced a bevy of roster recalls from the AHL’s Toronto Marlies ahead of Game 5 against the Ottawa Senators.
On Tuesday, per Leafs PR, the team recalled six forwards, six defensemen and both Hildeby and Murray ahead of Game 5. Leading scorer Steeves, along with Alex Nylander and rookie Jacob Quillan were the notable forwards recalled, while Cade Webber and William Villeneuve were the notable additions on the blueline.
NHL clubs often do this during the playoffs as there is no roster limit or salary cap and, as Berube mentioned, it gives some of their younger players the opportunity to experience the grind of the playoffs and work with the Leafs development staff in preparation for next season.
It is highly unlikely any will get into a playoff game, but stranger things have happened, and a long run could open up opportunities for some lucky players.
