Macklin Celebrini will remain captain of Team Canada for the World Championship and Sidney Crosby will wear an ‘A”, TSN reported on Thursday.
Crosby, who was added to Canada’s roster after Celebrini was named captain, said on Thursday afternoon that it didn’t matter to him whether he was Captain, and Celebrini also sounded willing to relinquish the ‘C’ if Crosby wanted it. According to TSN, the decision to let Celebrini remain captain came from a “player-lead discussion” where “the players wanted Celebrini to keep the ‘C.'”
The last time Crosby played for Canada and wasn’t the captain was in the 2010 Olympics.
