CHICAGO — One of the most exciting Blackhawks prospects in recent years is finally headed over from Russia.

Roman Kantserov, 21, is headed to Madison Street and joins a young core of Bedard and company in what ‘Hawks fans hope will be a march to the playoffs in ’26-’27.

Kantserov owns Russia’s Kontinental Hockey League’s goals and points record (36 goals, 28 assists) for a player under the age of 22. He lead the league in goals last season.

The 5’9″ product likely will stick with the ‘Hawks as a winger but has played center in the KHL.

He signed a 3-year deal with a $1,075,000 cap hit for the next seasons.

The Magnitogorsk, Russia native was selected 44th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft. The Blackhawks own the 4th overally pick in the upcoming 2026 NHL Draft.
