The season ended for the Los Angeles Kings a couple of weeks ago, and the team is now focused on the 2026 offseason. But many other former Kings players from this past few years are still competing with a chance to win the Stanley Cup Final this spring.

From the perspective of veteran leadership in the locker room to playoff depth and postseason proven experience, several familiar names for the Kings remain just a few wins away from the Stanley Cup Final in the next couple of weeks.

Here is a list of every former Kings player still competing in the conference finals this postseason this spring.

Sean Walker, D (Carolina Hurricanes)

Former Kings’ defenseman and veteran blue-liner Sean Walker is looking for his first Stanley Cup ring with the Carolina Hurricanes this postseason. Walker appeared in two playoff games for the Kings during the 2023 postseason before eventually becoming a larger part of Carolina’s defensive core.

Walker will face former Kings teammate Phillip Danault and the Montreal Canadiens in the Eastern Conference Finals later this week.

Phillip Danault, C (Montreal Canadiens)

Before the trade deadline this past December 2025, the Kings traded Danault back to his former team in Montreal. Danault helped the Habs not only reach the postseason this spring in the Eastern Conference, but he’s also contributed to Montreal’s deepest playoff run in the past five years in the conference finals this week.

There will be multiple familiar faces for Kings fans in the Eastern Conference Finals between the Canes and Habs, with Danault leading Montreal down the middle and Walker anchoring Carolina’s blue line.

In Montreal’s Game 7 clutch win in the extra frame in overtime vs. Buffalo this past Monday night, Danault scored on of the game’s three goals on the scoreboard for the Habs. He’s played all 14 games for the Canadiens this postseason.

Brayden McNabb, D (Vegas Golden Knights)

The only former Kings player on the blue line on defense who is left in the postseason this spring in the Western Conference is Vegas Golden Knights physical defenseman Brayden McNabb. McNabb also remains one of the more experienced playoff defensemen in the Western Conference after helping the Kings win the Stanley Cup earlier in his career, before later becoming a key part of Vegas’ defensive core.

McNabb is also one of the few remaining Golden Knights defensemen with more than 100 career playoff games of experience.

McNabb and the Golden Knights helped contain Anaheim’s offense throughout much of the Pacific Division Finals, holding the Ducks to two goals or fewer in three of the six games in the series.
