Mark Schiefele completed the hat trick with his third goal of the game 29 seconds into overtime Thursday and Canada defeated Norway 6-5 at the World Championship in Fribourg, Switzerland.

Detroit Red Wings goaltender Cam Talbot had a rough outing, allowing five goals on 19 shots, but won his second game of the tournament as Canada improved to 3-1-0-0 (W-OTW-OTL-L), good for 11 points and first place in Group B.

Surprisingly resilient Norway (2-0-1-1) has seven points.

Noah Steen (8:09) and Tinus Luc Koblar (9:57) scored 1:48 apart in the third period to out Norway ahead 5-4 before Ryan O’Reilly tied it with 1:39 remaining in regulation.

Gabriel Vilardi had a goal and an assist for Canada. Macklin Celebrini and Evan Bouchard each contributed a pair of assists.
