Sabourin, 33, appeared in 26 NHL games with the Lightning during the 2025-26 season, recording one goal and five points while finishing with a plus-1 rating and 89 penalty minutes. He ranked third on the team in penalty minutes and also contributed 63 hits. His role centered on physical play and energy rather than scoring output.
Alongside his NHL appearances, Sabourin played 24 games for the AHL’s Syracuse Crunch during the 2025-26 campaign, finished with six goals and eight points along with 22 penalty minutes. He continued to serve as a depth option between the two levels throughout the season.
Sabourin also made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut with Tampa Bay, appearing in two postseason games against Montreal. The playoff action was his first career NHL postseason experience.
Across his NHL career, Sabourin has played 73 games with the Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Toronto Maple Leafs, and San Jose Sharks. He has recorded three goals and 13 points, including 10 assists, along with 147 penalty minutes over parts of six NHL seasons. He made his NHL debut with the Senators on October 2, 2019, scoring his first career goal on his first shot on net.

The Orleans, Ontario native was originally undrafted before signing a three-year entry-level contract with the Los Angeles Kings on October 7, 2013. He has spent time in the AHL since the 2012-13 season with the Manchester Monarchs, the Kings’ affiliate.
Sabourin signed with Tampa Bay as a free agent on July 13, 2025. His NHL minimum salary is set to increase by $75,000 to $850,000 next season, up from $775,000 in 2025-26, although financial terms of the current deal were not disclosed.
The Lightning view Sabourin as a physical depth forward who can move between Tampa Bay and Syracuse depending on roster needs.
