A major gesture made during the national anthem before the Montreal Canadiens game is drawing attention across the hockey world right now.

Canadiens fans at the Bell Centre experienced an absolutely unique moment before Game 3 against the Carolina Hurricanes.

And it is precisely the kind of moment that demonstrates the passion of Canadiens fans.

Cory Lavalette of The North State Journal shared the information on social media.

“Mics didn’t kick on for the anthem singers at first, and the Bell Centre crowd carried the U.S anthem until the audio got sorted out.”

An incredible scene, and a huge gesture from the crowd!

Stu Cowan also shared his own observation of the sequence on social media.

“Cool moment at Bell Centre. Microphones didn’t work for anthem singers for start of U.S anthem so fans started singing it themselves until microphones started working. “

Alexandre Pratt also reported the event.

“The Bell Centre crowd began singing the United States national anthem while there was a problem with the singers’ microphones.”

It is exactly the kind of moment that demonstrates the class of Quebec hockey fans.

For the singers who were supposed to perform the United States national anthem, it was probably an extremely difficult moment to experience… The microphones were not working at all, but it ended extremely well!

The Bell Centre crowd took matters into their own hands with remarkable class.
