A very unfortunate incident that took place outside the Bell Centre during a Montreal Canadiens game has just been revealed, and there will be consequences.

Montreal police must now intervene.

A 56-year-old fan was attacked for no apparent reason by another fan while leaving the arena at the beginning of May.

TVA Sports shared the official information on social media.

The kind of news we hate to see.

The SPVM has taken over the case to deal with the person responsible for this regrettable act outside the Bell Centre

The 56-year-old man, a father, was simply leaving the arena.

But it was only three weeks later, on May 21, that the man went to a Montreal police station to file a complaint.

The incident took place on Avenue des Canadiens-de-Montréal, near the intersection with De la Montagne Street.

The man was simply walking among a group of fans.

And that is when the situation escalated, according to footage obtained by La Presse.

There was a verbal altercation with another individual wearing a Kaiden Guhle jersey, and afterward, things unfortunately got out of control.”The man briefly lost consciousness before regaining it.”

– SPVM spokesperson

The man was later transported to the hospital.

In short, all the details are in TVA Sports’ article, but this is obviously the kind of regrettable scene everyone wants to avoid.
