The 2025-26 NHL season is marching toward its ultimate destination, presentation of the Stanley Cup.

The Vegas Golden Knights and Carolina Hurricanes won their conference championships, earning the right to chase a second title in franchise history.

The Knights swept the No. 1-seeded Colorado Avalanche to advance to a Stanley Cup Final for the third time in the team’s nine years of existence. Vegas won the 2023 crown by defeating the Florida Panthers.

The Hurricanes, formerly the Hartford Whalers, won the franchise’s only Stanley Cup in 2006 by taking down the Edmonton Oilers in seven games. This season, Carolina is 12-1 in the postseason, defeating the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 in the Eastern Conference Final.
