The St. Louis Blues announced today that they’ve agreed to a contract extension with goalie Will Cranley. The deal is a one-year, two-way extension. Cranley, this past season, appeared in ten games with the Springfield Thunderbirds. He went 6-4-0 with a 3.03 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage. Cranley also appeared in 18 games for the Florida Everblades. He went 14-3-1 with a 2.17 goals-against average, a .915 save percentage, and two shutouts. He also appeared in a Calder Cup Playoff game with Springfield, where he stopped 19 of the 23 shots he faced. That game came in Springfield’s 8-1 loss to Charlotte to start the playoffs. The big moment for Cranley this season was back on February 28th against the Charlotte Checkers when he fought goalie Louis Domingue in Springfield’s 5-1 win over Charlotte.

The Blues drafted Crnaley 163rd overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. Before being drafted, he spent four seasons in the OHL, three with the Ottawa 67’s and one with the Flint Firebirds. In 117 games over four seasons, he went 53-45-7-3 with a 3.61 goals-against average, an .882 save percentage, and six shutouts. In two playoff games, he was 0-1-0 with a 5.36 goals-against average and an .800 save percentage. He’s appeared in 13 AHL games, 12 with Springfield and one with the Utica Comets, going 6-6-0 with a 3.15 goals-against average, and an .890 save percentage. In 74 ECHL games with the Utah Grizzlies, Reading Royals, and Everblades, he went 34-27-8 with a 3.02 goals-against average, a .896 save percentage, and four shutouts.
