A first Montreal Canadiens player has finally confirmed that he underwent surgery for a serious injury suffered weeks ago.
The right-shot defenseman officially confirmed during his press conference in Brossard that he underwent a medical procedure.
And the revelation provides exactly the missing context behind the persistent rumors about his inability to close his hand.

Let’s remember that Alex Tétreault had shared on social media that Dobson was unable to close his hand for most of the 2026 playoffs.
And now, Dobson has officially confirmed that he had indeed undergone a medical procedure!
That explains why Dobson looked unrecognizable at times, especially offensively.
Many players probably would have chosen to miss several games with this type of injury, but Dobson chose the exact opposite.
Now it remains to be seen how Noah Dobson will use his summer recovery to return to full health.
And whether the right-shot defenseman will finally be able to put together a full season without any major injuries in 2026-27.
Noah Dobson, 26, is a 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-shot defenseman who was selected by the New York Islanders in the first round of the 2018 NHL Draft (12th overall).
He ultimately recorded just one point in 13 NHL playoff games after posting 47 points in 80 games during the regular season.
