LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The mayors for the two teams in the 2026 Stanley Cup Final have made their wagers.

Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley posted a video on Monday accepting a friendly bet from Janet Cowell, her counterpart in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Cowell challenged Berkley over the outcome of the championship series between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Carolina Hurricanes.

If the Golden Knights emerge victorious, Cowell says she will send barbecue for Berkley to enjoy. Berkley upped the ante, challenging Cowell to wear a Golden Knights jersey at a city council meeting as well.

Should the Canes win, Berkley will have to send Cowell a sequined Carolina jersey and wear a Hurricanes jersey at a council meeting.

Berkley also offered to send a “Las Vegas gift basket to die for.”

“If I were you, I would never bet against Vegas,” she added.

Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final is set for Tuesday, June 2, in Raleigh, followed by Game 2 on Thursday.

The series shifts to Las Vegas for Game 3 on Saturday, June 6, and Game 4 on Tuesday, June 9.
