An agent reportedly suggested that people should keep an eye on the Connor McDavid-to-Montreal possibility rather than the one involving Sidney Crosby, and many genuinely believed the rumours surrounding No. 87.
Since then, more pieces have started to add up.
But let’s be clear about one thing. None of this has been confirmed.
