Plenty of Philadelphia’s prominent sports figures have been down the shore recently, with Jason Kelce frequently seen in Sea Isle, where he has a stake in Hanks Sauce.

Eagles Take Over Sea Isle and Avalon

Kelce, along with Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, was seen down the shore over Memorial Day Weekend at Range 9 in Cape May Court House and was shooting hoops in Avalon. While Kelce was at the new Johnny Cutlets and Twisties Tavern.

While we’ve seen a bunch of Eagles down the shore, Sea Isle and Avalon used to be a Flyers town.

Fans would routinely see Flyers players, like Mike Richards, Jeff Carter, and more out and about enjoying their summer.

From Flyers Town to Gully’s: Rick Tocchet Spotted in Avalon

Well, after a fun playoff run, current Philadelphia Flyers coach Rick Tocchet was down in Avalon checking out a new spot, Gully’s at 2688 Dune Drive, across from Pirate Golf in the place that used to be the Black Cactus, which closed in September of 2025.

Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni was even spotted at the Black Cactus in the summer of 2025, before they closed. Before becoming the Black Cactus, the building was home to the Coldwell Banker Real Estate building for decades.

What is Gully’s Avalon?

Gully’s just opened May 14 and is described by the restaurant as “bringing back old school Avalon” with a “Beach Bar Fun For The Whole Family” vibe.
