A clarification on what it would cost the Canadiens in such a scenario.

But an important point needs to be made right away.

Montreal is not currently on the list of destinations submitted by Larkin.

That said, the discussion about the price remains interesting.

It gives an idea of what Detroit would demand if Larkin were to eventually add Montreal to his list.

Michael Hage remains the key piece in any serious Dylan Larkin trade discussion

That comes as no surprise.

Darren Dreger and Marco D’Amico had already mentioned Hage as a key piece in such a trade over the past few days.

Several sources are therefore pointing to the same name.

Hage appears to be an essential part of any serious discussion involving Larkin.

A first-round pick and additional assets could also be included in such an offer.

But all of this remains theoretical as long as Montreal is excluded.

It remains to be seen whether Dylan Larkin’s list will ever expand to include the Montreal Canadiens.

But with Hage reportedly at the top of the asking price, many fans may conclude that this closed door (for now) is not such a bad thing after all.
