The LA Kings have announced that they have signed restricted free agent Martin Chromiak to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 for the 2025-26 season. The Slovakia native and former fifth-round 2020 draft pick posted 39 points (18 G, 21 A) for the AHL’s Ontario Reign in 69 games played last season.
After a somewhat sluggish start to the season in Ontario, Chromiak closed out the year with eight goals and seven assists over the Reign’s final 20 games. Chromiak’s increased production led to him playing on Ontario’s top-line alongside Glenn Gawdin and Charles Hudon. However, the 22-year-old forward was unable to sustain this level of production at the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. In seven games played with Team Slovakia, Chromiak only managed to score one goal was a -3 plus/minus rating. This lack of consistency has become a bit of a knock on his game, but at still just 22 years of age, Chromiak has time to change the narrative.
The LA Kings’ current roster appears to be fairly set but with a team still needing depth offense, it wouldn’t be out of the question to see Chromiak earn a call up at some point next season.
