RALEIGH, N.C. (WITN) – Carolina Hurricanes fans will have a chance to celebrate the team’s Stanley Cup championship this weekend.
The championship parade will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday in downtown Raleigh and takes place along Hillsborough Street from Ashe Avenue to Salisbury Street.
The Hurricanes won their second-ever Stanley Cup on Sunday night with a 3-0 win versus the Vegas Golden Knights.
Officials say the stretch of Hillsborough Street used for the parade will be closed to traffic starting at 8 a.m. Saturday.
The Hurricanes’ last Stanley Cup parade was held in 2006 after the team defeated the Edmonton Oilers.
