The Edmonton Oilers and Florida Panthers will face off for the second straight year in a Stanley Cup Final rematch starting on Wednesday.
The Oilers, who made rather easy work of the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference finals on the way to the Cup, will look to avenge last year’s loss and claim Canada’s first Stanley Cup in over 30 years.
Stars fans tuning into the series might see some familiar faces on the Florida and Edmonton rosters, including a few former Stars and even the son of a former Dallas Maverick.

Seth Jones was born in Arlington to Amy and Ronald Jones, the latter better known around D-FW as “Popeye.” Popeye Jones had two different stints with the Mavericks in the 1990s and early 2000s, playing four seasons total in Dallas. Seth’s brother, Caleb, currently plays for the Los Angeles Kings.
Seth grew up playing hockey in Denver while his dad was with the Nuggets, and as a defenseman with similar size and athleticism to that of his father, he already had a good start at an NHL career. He was drafted in 2013 by the Predators and played with the Blue Jackets and Blackhawks before being traded to the Panthers at this season’s trade deadline.
Jones has three goals and four assists in 17 playoff games for the Panthers. He’s seeking his first Stanley Cup win.

Klingberg spent eight seasons in Dallas after being discovered as a fifth round pick in the 2010 draft. Since leaving, he’s become a journeyman player with stops in Anaheim, Toronto, Minnesota and now is in his first season with the Oilers.
Klingberg worked his way back from hip surgery to make himself available for the playoffs.
He scored a goal against his former team in the Western Conference finals, one of six the Oilers netted in a Game 3 blowout.

Perry is in his 20th NHL season and spent one of them with the Stars. He came to Dallas as a longtime member of the rival Anaheim Ducks, and his time with the Stars didn’t exactly endear him to the fanbase, either.
In fact, his time here is less remembered for the five goals he scored across 57 games and more for the Walk of Shame he had to take after garnering a game misconduct during the Winter Classic and getting booted from the Stars’ first-ever outdoor game two minutes into it.
no better to start 2020 than watching corey perry take the walk of shame after getting a game misconduct 2 minutes into the winter classic

Mattias Janmark
Janmark was acquired by Dallas as a 23-year-old from the Red Wings, but never really panned out in four seasons with the Stars. You know who did pan out? Roope Hintz, who was acquired from one of the picks Dallas received in that trade. One of the first of many wins in the Jim Nill era.
Janmark bounced around a bit after leaving Dallas but has spent the last three seasons with Edmonton.
He, like Klingberg, scored a goal against Dallas in the WCF — a big one. He netted the second goal in Game 5, the one that ended up chasing Jake Oettinger and casting an air of awkwardness over the start to the Stars’ offseason.
