Elliotte Friedman reveals a major issue the New York Rangers are dealing with and it’s worrisome

During the topic of trades, a Rangers veteran’s name came up. Whether or not the Rangers move off of Chris Kreider, they’ll have to figure out how to work around his health. As Elliotte Friedman pondered the veteran’s future with the squad, and how his injuries may affect his future in the league.
It’s been reported today that New York Rangers GM Chris Drury will begin to listen in on offers for players during the postseason.
As it appears, the team is poised to be one of the busiest of the 32 NHL franchises this year. Which could signal an intention to reshape the team into an entirely different unit by the time October rolls around.
After underachieving significantly at the beginning of the year, Drury made some major changes midway in the season, and wouldn’t stop at just trading players like Kaapo Kakko and Jacob Trouba.
A NHL team that is contending could utilize someone like Kreider, when he’s healthy, as he’s been one of the best forwards on the Rangers’ lineup until recently.
He’s scored thirty goals in three consecutive seasons and could be a huge piece for a team in front of the net for the power-play.
Multiple injuries kept him sidelined this season, including a back issue, vertigo midseason, and a hand injury as soon as the 4 Nations Face-Off concluded.
Kreider’s production reflected his inconsistent health perfectly, as he’d only tally 30 points (22 goals, 8 assists) this season.
He’d be a non-factor during the Four Nations Face-Off.
It’s difficult to see where his future lies, whether in New York or elsewhere. Maybe he’ll land somewhere they collect veterans like Thanos collects infinity stones.
