According to recent reports from the Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli explains that pending unrestricted free agent Brock Boeser Is poised to hit the open market, and the New York Rangers were one of many teams looking to add him to their rosters.

Seravalli has projected Boeser’s new salary at a six-year deal worth $8.5 million per season which will be a raise of $1.85 million for the 28-year-old forward.

However, that might all chance now due to a recent signing on Wednesday morning, as Brock Nelson just signed a 3-year extension worth $7.5AAV with the Colorado Avalanche.

Rangers interested in the Canucks winger

Boeser had a reduction in his offense this season and has been unhappy with the Vancouver Canucks as the team was in turmoil all season, missed the playoffs and traded one of his favorite players in J.T. Miller to the Rangers.

With that being said, General manager Chris Drury is likely to take a run at Boeser as he would like to change the complexion of his team and give it a different look especially with new head coach Mike Sullivan.

Boeser has played his entire career with the Canucks which began in 2016 and during this season, he had played 75 games, scoring 25 goals with 25 assists for 50 points but was a dreadful -25 with 16 penalty minutes.

New York Rangers offseason plans has just took a massive financial turn

The Vancouver Canucks former 40-goal scorer and pending UFA, Brock Boeser is now reportedly set to sign a major contract after Brock Nelson re-signed a fairly large deal with the Colorado Avalanche.

Which completely changes things for the New York Rangers as they only have $8.2 Million in cap space, along with several of their own free agents looking for a new contract.

Free agency will begin on Canada day on July 1st at 12:00 PM eastern so it will be interesting to see what Chris Drury will do.
