Buffalo Sabres forward Peyton Krebs has filed for salary arbitration, according to the NHL Players’ Association.
This comes as Krebs and the Sabres continue to work on a new deal. He is a restricted free agent this offseason and is coming off a two-year contract worth $2.9 million.
Arbitration hearings can begin as early as July 20.
Teams can still sign those players before a hearing takes place.
This past season was Krebs’ best in the NHL with career highs in goals and assists. He scored 12 goals and 27 assists and added six points in 13 playoff games for Buffalo.
Krebs was acquired as part of the trade that sent Jack Eichel to the Vegas Golden Knights in November of 2021.
