The Dallas Stars brought back a depth piece Wednesday, re-signing forward Arttu Hyry to a two-year deal.

Hyry, a 25-year-old Finnish forward, signed a two-year deal worth $900,000 annually, the team announced. The first year of the deal is a two-way deal, and the second year is a one-way deal.

The Stars also signed forward Artem Shlaine and goaltender Brandon Halverson to one-year, two-way contracts. Both players are expected to spend next season in the minors.

Hyry appeared in 20 games for the Stars last season, scoring two goals and adding two assists. In the playoffs, he played in four games and averaged 13:15 of ice time.

Hyry became a reliable depth contributor, known for his contributions in the face-off circle and on the penalty kill.

While he could split time between Dallas and Cedar Park next season, the Mavrik Bourque trade that happened earlier in the day Wednesday opens up a spot that Hyry could fill.

The Oulu, Finland, native signed with Dallas as a free agent for the first time in 2024. He went undrafted.
