Pittsburgh Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas has hired Brandon Pridham as a hockey operations consultant, according to several reports on Tuesday.

Pridham, who served as Toronto Maple Leafs assistant GM for 12 years before a change brought in John Chayka this spring, will be reunited with Dubas, a former Maple Leafs GM. The hire comes a week after the Penguins lost Vukie Mpofu to Nashville. Mpofu was often referred to as the Penguins’ salary cap guru, but he was influential in several areas of management.

It is believed that Pridham, 52, will take over many if not all of Mpofu’s roles with the Penguins.

Before his time with Toronto, Pridham was senior director of central registry and central scouting with the NHL.

Dubas has mined the Maple Leafs for several staffers, including assistant GM Jason Spezza and Wes Clark, vice president of player personnel.
