New signing to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
The Trois-Rivières Lions have just added a familiar face.
Forward Mathieu Bizier is back for the 2026-27 season with the Montreal Canadiens’ ECHL affiliate!
They confirmed the agreement in the past few hours. A signing that rewards an impressive finish to the season in Trois-Rivières!
Bizier joined the Lions on March 3.
The left-shot centerman wasted no time making an impact, recording at least one point in each of his first five games.
In total, the forward produced 7 goals and 8 assists (15 points) in 21 games.

Mathieu Bizier returns to the Montreal Canadiens organization
He has an impressive journey.
Before breaking into the professional ranks, the Lévis native excelled at the university level.
Over four seasons with the Concordia Stingers, he totaled 99 points in 103 games.
Bizier won a gold medal at the Winter Universiade and was named Student-Athlete of the Year twice.
His junior career was also impressive.
The 6-foot-1 forward recorded 184 points in 289 QMJHL games.
He notably served as an assistant captain for two seasons with the Gatineau Olympiques.
A leadership role that says a lot about his character.
The player himself did not hide his excitement about returning.
“I am very happy to be returning to the Lions for next season!”
He continued with the same enthusiasm.
“I had a great time joining the team at the end of last season, and I am very excited to see our team in action in 2026-27!”

Bizier will be reunited with a former teammate.
Édouard Charron spent the past four seasons with him at Concordia.
The signing joins those of Anthony Beauregard, Mathias Laferrière, Landon Fuller, Jake Gravelle, and Christopher Inniss, who have also signed agreements for the upcoming season.
