The couple has officially confirmed that they are expecting their first child.
The announcement came just minutes ago, with Daryanne Montembeault sharing the exciting update on social media.
Daryanne posted a series of photos on Instagram featuring the couple proudly holding ultrasound images as they shared the special milestone.
Daryanne accompanied the photos with a heartfelt message.
“Mommy and Daddy can’t wait to meet you,” she wrote.
Their story goes back nearly a decade.
They first met at the Festival du blé d’Inde in Saint-Célestin, an event that changed the course of their lives.
They’ll celebrate nine years together this August, with this year’s anniversary carrying even more meaning as they prepare to welcome their first child.
Several new parents in the Montreal Canadiens’ locker room
Montembeault isn’t the only Canadien preparing for fatherhood.
Five players on Montreal’s roster have recently become fathers or are expecting a child, with several preparing to welcome their first baby.
We’d like to congratulate Samuel and Daryanne Montembeault and wish them all the best as they prepare for this exciting new chapter. We already can’t wait to see the family photos.
Meanwhile, Montembeault continues his offseason training and has been a regular on the ice in Brossard as he prepares for the 2026-27 season.
The 29-year-old goaltender, who stands 6-foot-3 and weighs 218 pounds, finished the 2025-26 season with a 10-8-4 record, a 3.43 goals-against average, and a .872 save percentage.
He also appeared in two games with the Laval Rocket.
