New Jersey Devils fans are looking at a different way to catch games next season.
DAZN has locked in a deal to become the exclusive digital home for MSG Networks and YES Network content. That covers every non-national broadcast of the Devils, along with the New York Rangers, New York Islanders, Buffalo Sabres, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, and New York Yankees.
The biggest practical change for Devils fans is straightforward: Devils games—and all the other NY/NJ-area sports packages that lived on the Gotham Sports App—will leave that platform. Gotham, the joint MSG-YES streaming app that launched in 2024, is being phased out.
DAZN is effectively taking over the whole direct-to-consumer operation. Current Gotham subscribers keep uninterrupted access for now. Once the switch happens they will be steered over to DAZN.
Cable, satellite, and streaming-TV customers who already get MSG will still see the games through DAZN at no extra charge.
The exact migration date has not been set. Officials say more details will come in the next few months. Because the change is tied to the upcoming NBA and NHL seasons, Yankees games are expected to stay on Gotham through the rest of this baseball campaign. Nothing else about the programming changes—live games, 24/7 network feeds, highlights, and behind-the-scenes shows all move over intact.
From a Devils fan’s seat the timing feels both promising and uncertain. After a stretch of app hopping and reliability gripes with Gotham, a larger platform with deeper pockets could mean fewer headaches on game nights—namely the delay which certainly twisted viewers at home. At the same time, another login change always brings the risk of glitches right when the puck drops. MSG had been under financial pressure after restructuring debt and cutting rights fees to its teams, so the DAZN partnership gives the network a fresh partner with global reach and technology muscle.
For now the games are still coming. They just will not live on Gotham anymore. When the 2026-27 NHL season starts, Jack Hughes and Devils hockey stream on DAZN.
