EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – An Evansville junior hockey team will be joining United States Premier Hockey League.
Officials say the Evansville Mariners are officially joining the USPHL Elite and Premier conferences in the upcoming season.
They say the Elite level will focus on preparing younger talent for the demands of Premier competition, while the Premier team will “provide a competitive environment geared toward advanced development and exposure to higher levels of hockey.”
According to the press release, the Mariners also announced their U18 AAA program.
They say by having teams in both the Premier and Elite conferences’ Midwest Division, the Mariners will offer another pathway for athletes looking to grow and reach the next level.
