The Swedish centerman signed his entry-level deal with the Flyers last season, and joined the Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the remainder of the AHL season.
Berglund, 20, was the captain of the Swedish World Juniors championship team.
The 6’4” center had 5 goals and 12 points in 40 SHL games for Farjestad BK last season. He’ll now return to the club on loan from the Flyers.
Berglund is seen as a big, physical, two-way center who tracks for a middle-six role in the NHL. The Flyers are now giving him more development time before he makes the team.
There was a chance Berglund could have competed for an NHL role in 2026 training camp. Instead, he’ll return for another season in the SHL.
