Monday morning, Amy Daniels, the executive director of the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation, announced a new initiative to bring pediatric patients special Canes-themed gowns.
The initiative was made possible by a $10,000 donation from the Hurricanes, and will benefit 400 patients total throughout Maynard’s Children Hospital, Duke Children’s Hospital, and UNC Children’s Hospital.
Kids Who Gives – a non-profit organization for empowering children – have teamed up with the Hurricanes for this initiative, as well as Brave Gowns, who designed and produced the 1,000 gowns to be given away.
Wednesday morning, representatives from the Hurricanes, Kids Who Gives, and ECU Health will visit Maynard’s Children Hospital in Greenville, N.C., to present the gowns and learn about the impact that the initiative will have on the children and their families.
Additionally, the Hurricanes’ mascot, Stormy, will make an appearance to spread some joy to the children and families.
