We have a signing to announce within the Montreal Canadiens organization.
The Trois-Rivières Lions, an affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens, have confirmed the signing of defenseman Thomas Darcy for the 2026-2027 season.
Darcy arrives with an impressive resume: he lifted the Memorial Cup with the Quebec Remparts in 2023.
We’re talking about the most prestigious trophy in Canadian junior hockey.
And 2022-2023 was, by far, his best season at that level.
The 22-year-old right-shot defenseman, a Terrebonne native, stands 6-foot-1.
Last season, he split his time between the Laval Pétroliers of the LNAH and HK Skalica in Slovakia.
Right-shot defensemen aren’t easy to find.
It’s the kind of profile organizations like to keep around and stockpile.
Before turning pro, he played four seasons in the QMJHL with Moncton and Quebec, recording 15 goals and 23 assists in 94 games.
Here is the team’s official announcement:
“The Trois-Rivières Lions announce the arrival of Thomas Darcy!
A Memorial Cup champion with the Quebec Remparts in 2023, the Quebec-born defenseman will begin a new chapter of his career with the Lions this season!”

He has won everywhere he’s gone.
After a stint at the University of Guelph, he won the LNAH championship with the Pétroliers in 2025-2026, followed by a championship in Slovakia.
Back in Quebec, the defenseman isn’t hiding his excitement:
“I’m very proud to be joining the Lions.
It’s an excellent organization, very close to home, and I’m really looking forward to starting this new adventure with my new teammates.”
– Thomas Darcy
For the Canadiens, the Trois-Rivières affiliate serves as a development level one step below the Laval Rocket.
