1. Why didn’t coach Peter Laviolette specifically answer a question post-game about Igor Shesterkin’s imploding in Buffalo?
2. For the same reason that The Abdicating Emperor Goalie refused to show up for the kindly media after yet another ersatz effort. (Shall we say embarrassed?)

3. What was K’Andre Miller thinking when his juicy (alias errant) pass led to the first Buffalo goal and the deluge that followed? (Don’t answer that; the Sabres already did.)
4. On January 14, the Rangers playoff chances were listed at about 30-35 percent. On February 23, they were lowered to between 10-15 percent. (Agree or disagree with The Maven?)
5. I will bet that some things you absolutely do not want to see are: A. Shesterkin’s goals against average; B. Iggy’s save percentage; C. A post-game interview with The Beloved Goalie.
6. Remember the motto: “There’s No Quit In New York!” Unless the Lads In Blue show us differently today, the motto may have to be trimmed to THERE’S NO IT IN NEW YORK!:

7. Where would you start if you were going to fix the team? I’d bring John Davidson back as Lord High Executioner and let him take over from there. (The current coach and his boss have to go.)
8. The Athletic’s Arthur Staple did a splendid – lengthy and specific – piece on January 14 which touched on everything about the Rangers. The essay mentioned that Chris Kreider should be one of the first to be traded. A good reason being that the club has a bunch of good wing prospects starting with Gabe Perreault and Brennan Othmann. (Mostly the former)
9. Then again, if the Rangers beat Pittsburgh – as they should – and then top the Islanders – that’s two out of three, or four out of six points. (Hey, ya never know?)
