A while back NHL.com asked star players who drove the nicest car? Most didn’t choose themselves, because, well, they’re hockey players and are just too nice. Overall, the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon seemed to be the consensus vehicle earning praise across the league. Also, the Porsche Spyder RS was another popular car among NHL players. Both models cost anywhere from $190K to $400K. It might sound like a lot, but compared to other sports, NHL’ers are a little less flashy. Except one, but we’ll get to him later.

Right now, William Karlsson. He has an Audi R8. – Mark Stone to NHL.com

Vegas captain Mark Stone was asked which teammate drove the nicest car, and his answer was a bit surprising. This is Fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada. Flashy sports cars and luxury vehicles are all over the valley. Who doesn’t remember the Original Misfits cruising to T-Mobile Arena in Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Rolls-Royces? Nope, it was none of those exotic cars. Stone chose a modest auto that one of his longtime teammates drives.

It was slightly shocking that an Audi would be the nicest car on the Golden Knights roster. However, it likely cost Karlsson a cool 200 Gs, which would qualify as a high-end luxury sedan. While some of the bigger bodies on the team drive expensive SUVs and big-ass trucks, the six-foot Swede prefers a lower, quicker-to-handle vehicle to get around town. Plus, highway patrol is all over the 215 so why would the 2018 Lady Byng winner want a pricey speeding ticket?

Although Stone ranked Karlsson’s whip the nicest, he did say for now.

But I have one in the mail coming right now. So, I’m going to have the nicest soon. –Mark Stone to NHL.com

Well, it seems that Stone was so enamored with Karlsson’s Audi he decided to order his own. The captain was so jealous that he ordered an Audi R8 for himself through the mail. Side note, only Stone would order a new vehicle by mail.

However, there was one familiar NHL goalie that is known for having the nicest cars in the entire league. It shouldn’t surprise anyone in Las Vegas. Multiple players from several teams nominated Fleury for the player with the nicest cars. As we know from his days in Southern Nevada, the future Hall of Famer is very fond of fast and powerful cars.

If you recall, Fleury was featured on the popular TV series Counting Cars in 2018. Personality Danny Koker customized a classic 1972 Chevelle Convertible for the 2021 Vezina trophy winner.

Fleury auctioned off the Chevelle years later, but the 2018 Western Conference champion remains very fond of powerful cars. As for Vegas, the verdict is out. It’s possible Karlsson and Stone traded in their Audi sedans for high-end family SUVs. Maybe, the nicest car crown is up for grabs going into the new season.
