The very first Texas high school football broadcast for Victory+ has been canceled.
The THSCA Game of the Week broadcast between Humble Summer Creek and Alvin Shadow Creek has been canceled, Alvin ISD confirmed to The Dallas Morning News. The game is still scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28 at 7 p.m. but is no longer listed on the Dallas-based streaming service’s website as a “Live & Upcoming Texas High School Football” broadcast.
At the time of publication, Victory+ had not yet responded for comment.
The cancellation comes in the wake of other partners leaving the free ad-supported streaming service over the last month. In July, the Texas Rangers announced they were switching providers to BZZR, citing concerns over the future viability of Victory+. Since then, the Anaheim Ducks and the National Women’s Soccer League have also left the platform. The Dallas Stars have said they’re maintaining a “status quo” relationship with the service.
