ST. PAUL, Minn. (KVRR) — Minnesota Wild fans will be able to watch locally televised games on Prime Video beginning this season.

The Wild announced Wednesday a multi-year agreement making Prime Video the team’s exclusive local streaming distributor.

Fans who live within the Wild’s local broadcast territory can purchase a Wild subscription through Prime Video for $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year. The subscription will be available to all Amazon customers.

According to Michael Russo of The Athletic, fans who already pay for Amazon Prime will still need to purchase the additional Wild subscription to stream the games.

That’s different from some other NHL teams partnering with Prime Video. The Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks said in their announcements that an additional subscription would not be required for Prime members.

The Wild’s streaming package will include every regular-season game that is not exclusively televised nationally, along with locally televised games during the First Round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

The Wild are also launching Wild+, a team-owned and operated television network that will produce the team’s local broadcasts. Wild+ will be available through multiple platforms, including Prime Video, cable, satellite and over-the-air television.

According to SKOR North’s Judd Zulgad, the television setup will operate similarly to Twins TV. Zulgad reports that fans who receive a sports package through a provider such as Xfinity would not also need to purchase Wild+ to watch the television broadcasts. However, fans who want to stream games would still need the separate Wild subscription.

Specific channel locations and additional availability information will be announced before the regular season.

Games selected for exclusive national broadcasts on ABC, ESPN, ESPN+/Hulu or TNT will not be included as local Wild+ broadcasts. Fans outside the Wild’s local television territory will continue to have options through NHL Center Ice and NHL Power Play on the ESPN App.

The Wild broadcast team will remain familiar. Anthony LaPanta will handle play-by-play alongside lead analyst Ryan Carter, with Kevin Gorg reporting rink-side. Katie Storm and Wes Walz will primarily host pregame and postgame coverage, while Alex Stalock and Lou Nanne will serve as analysts for select games.
