The 27-man roster includes 16 forwards, eight blueliners, and a trio of goaltenders. Leading the forward unit are a quartet of Flyers who played last season led by Porter Martone, Denver Barkey, Alex Bump, and Jett Luchanko. As well, 2026 fifth-round pick KJ Sauer will also be attending. In addition to Martone, other 2025 draft picks in camp include Matthew Gard and Nathan Quinn, the latter a sixth-rounder who had a strong season with the Quebec Remparts of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. And Ilya Pautov, the 2024 sixth-round pick who the Flyers signed to an entry-level deal in June, will also be in attendance.

The majority of the rookie camp spent time last season in the NCAA before a late-season stint with Lehigh Valley, including Cole Knuble, Riley Thompson, and Noah Powell. Devin Kaplan, who played 49 games with the Phantoms in 2025-26, is also on the roster. And Alex Ciernik, the brother of David Ciernik, will also be there. The Flyers drafted Alex, who played last season in Europe, back in 2023.

One camp invitee up front is Sawyer Dingman, a 17-year-old (he turns 18 next week) who comes in at 6’3″ and 224 pounds. Dingman spent last year with Swift Current of the Western Hockey League, scoring 13 goals and earning 27 points in 43 games. Dingman also had 98 minutes in penalties over that time. And Brady Berard, who the Flyers signed this year, is participating. Berard played at Boston College last season, scoring five goals and registering six points in 36 games. Finally, the Flyers will see Owen McLaughlin at rookie camp. McLaughlin, who played a portion of last year in Reading of the East Coast Hockey Leauge, was originally drafted by Philadelphia back in 2021, but the club never signed him to an entry-level deal last month. He still has until Sept. 15 to sign a two-year entry-level deal should he dazzle during the camp.

Defense and goalies names have few surprises

On the blueline, there are a lot of familiar faces, with Spencer Gill, Oliver Bonk, Ty Murchison, and Luke Vlooswyk part of the roster. Fleshing out the defense is 2026 first-round pick Maksim Sokolovskii, and 2026 second-round pick Brek Liske. Jackson Edward, who the Flyers acquired in a trade with Boston last season, is also attending. And there is one camp invite: Riley Steen. Steen played in Medicine Hat in 2025-26, scoring two goals and adding nine helpers for 11 points in 57 games.

The goaltending position is a bit of something old and something new in terms of rookies. Carson Bjarnason will return to be one of the trio, with 2026 draft picks Marek Sklenicka and Martin Psohlavec rounding out the goalkeeping duties. It’s no surprise that Yegor Zavragin is not attending as he’s already looking quite well playing in the KHL this year.

Rookie Camp Schedule

The schedule is broken down into two main sections. From Sept. 11 through to Sept. 13, the Rookie Camp will be held at the PPL Center in Allentown, home to the Phantoms. A one-hour session kicks things off on Sept. 11 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by a morning skate Sept. 12 prior to the first game against the Rangers rookie roster that evening. The same morning skate and game schedule takes place on Sept. 13, with the second game slated for a 5 p.m. start.

After the two games, the camp switches from Lehigh Valley to the Flyers Training Center on Sept. 14-15. No precise schedule has been released for both days, but there is a day off on Sept. 16.

Hopefully all 27 skaters are able to participate in camp without getting dinged up or injured. The idea is to shake off some of the rust and perhaps make a good impression with coaches and staff before, most likely, heading back to their respective junior and minor-league clubs.
