The Buffalo Sabres will remain on Audacy’s WGR-AM/FM (550/107.7) as the team’s official flagship radio station under a new multiyear partnership.
The National Hockey League team’s game broadcasts featuring play-by-play announcer Dan Dunleavy and analyst Rob Ray will continue to air on WGR in the Buffalo market, as well as through the Sabres App and Audacy App. The Sabres and Audacy will also establish the Sabres Radio Network to expand the reach of the broadcasts. A list of affiliate stations and markets will be announced at a later date.
WGR is now available nationally through SiriusXM, giving out-of-market Sabres fans another way to access the station’s programming.
“We’re excited to continue our longstanding relationship as the official voice of the Buffalo Sabres,” WGR Brand Manager Allan Davis says in a news release. “No radio station in the U.S. talks more hockey than Western New York’s Voice of the Fans — WGR. And no fan base anywhere loves their team more than Sabres fans do. We look forward to bringing them every play, every game, and every story every day.”
In addition to game coverage, WGR will feature exclusive Sabres content, including interviews with coaches, players and executives.
“WGR has long played a role in linking the people in our community to the Buffalo Sabres and we are excited to extend a partnership that has continued to grow stronger over the years,” says Sabres President of Business Operations Pete Guelli. “We are always exploring avenues for our fans to engage with us in meaningful ways and this partnership has consistently provided a trusted platform for them to stay connected.”
The agreement also expands the distribution of “Sabres Live.” The program will air live from noon-1pm on MSG in the Sabres broadcast market, the Sabres App and the team’s YouTube channel. Beginning at 1pm, fans can watch or listen on demand through the Audacy App, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, the Sabres YouTube channel and DAZN.
“Sabres Live” will also air on WGR at 8pm on nights when the Sabres don’t have a game.
The new agreement comes after changes to the Buffalo sports radio landscape earlier this year. The Buffalo Bills ended their longtime relationship with WGR and Audacy in February, moving their radio broadcast content distribution plan to Good Karma Brands for the 2026 season. The Sabres will now continue their relationship with WGR independently. The Bills have recently announced a broadcast partnership with Cumulus Media’s “97 Rock” WGRF.
