We have an important update to report, courtesy of TVA Sports reporter Renaud Lavoie.
He had relatively good news, although caution is still warranted, according to him.
As a reminder, footage obtained by Patrick Guillet showed the Montreal Canadiens defenseman wearing a tracksuit on Tuesday and not skating at full intensity.
That type of treatment is normally reserved for injured players, which had raised concerns among observers this week.
Speaking on BPM Sports this morning, Lavoie said that, based on his information, there does not appear to be a great deal of concern within the organization.
The reporter was careful to qualify his comments, though, as he did not want to downplay a situation that remains uncertain at this stage.
Kaiden Guhle‘s injury history keeps concern alive despite encouraging updateThis type of situation always raises a little more concern when it involves a player who has already dealt with injuries, such as Guhle, Kirby Dach or David Reinbacher.
As a reminder, Guhle was limited to 39 games last season, recording 11 points and a +5 rating during the regular season.
Renaud Lavoie also pointed out an important detail: Guhle did not finish last season’s playoffs at full health.
That raises a legitimate question: was the defenseman able to train at full capacity throughout the summer that just ended?
Fans will have to wait until they see him performing in full equipment, either before or during official training camp, before they can feel fully reassured.
We’ll continue to monitor the situation for you.
