Billy Strings has won three Grammy Awards, sold out arenas worldwide, and shared the stage with his musical idols, but on February 18th he’ll elevate to another level of fame when the NHL’s Nashville Predators distribute 10,000 bobbleheads of his likeness. The game against the Toronto Maple Leafs will take place at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, where Strings and his band will perform the following two nights.

The Nashville Predators previously invited Strings to sing the “Star-Spangled Banner” during the team’s 2024 playoff run. Fortunately, the franchise didn’t hold it against Strings that the team lost 1–0 to the Vancouver Canucks that night, ending their season.

While not a hockey player himself like Trey Anastasio or Dean Ween, Strings made headlines over the summer for wearing a hockey helmet onstage in Indiana after someone threw a lighter at his head the night before. Given that Strings just finished nursing a broken leg he suffered while skateboarding, fans shouldn’t expect to see him on the ice anytime soon.

As the team wrote in a theme night update on its website, “Back by popular demand, the Music City Hockey Bobblehead Series is set to return for its third installment during the 2026-27 season. Celebrating the unique spirit of Nashville, the series pays tribute to the city’s rich musical roots and vibrant culture. The Nashville Predators will showcase their pride for Music City with an exclusive Billy Strings bobblehead giveaway for the first 10,000 fans in attendance on Feb. 18.”

In addition to Billy Strings bobblehead night, the Nashville Predators will also celebrate Grateful Dead guitarist Jerry Garcia on October 15th when the Preds face off against the San Jose Sharks at Bridgestone. Fans who purchase the special ticket package will receive an exclusive Jerry Garcia hoodie, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Dead’s charitable arm, the Rex Foundation.
