We’re closer than ever to the Los Angeles Kings’ rookie camp, which will take place this Friday, Sept. 11, through Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Toyota Sports Performance Center in El Segundo, California. There are many incredible and talented players participating in this year’s camp. Some of the names include Carter George, Hampton Slukynsky and Henry Brzustewicz, just to name a few. Ahead, I broke down five top prospects worth keeping an eye on.

Henry Brzustewicz

Brzustewicz is one of the Kings’ top young talents after being selected 31st overall by Los Angeles in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft. He had a really strong 2025-26 season with the London Knights of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), finishing the regular season with 19 goals and 35 assists for 54 points in 59 games. It’s evident why the Kings are excited about his potential. The biggest thing I’ll be watching is how comfortable he looks on the defense side. We already know the Michigan native can produce, so I’m curious to see how he handles himself against tougher teams. Rookie camp should give us a good idea of where his game is at.

Liam Lefebvre

Liam Lefebvre is one of the newest names to join the Kings after being selected 46th overall in this year’s 2026 NHL Draft. As one of their most recent high draft picks, I’m curious to see how he handles the pace, physicality and structure of the professional game. He’s still early in his development, so I’ll be watching the smaller details, too. How does he make decisions with the puck? Is he quick enough? Can he create scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates? I’ll also be watching how he uses his speed and positioning to create plays in the offensive zone.

I’m excited to see what Lefebvre can bring to rookie camp and how he continues to develop. He’s still young, but this will be a good chance for him to show what he can do against other prospects. Overall, I’m very happy with the Kings’ selections this year, especially when it comes to their goaltending prospects. The Kings have several young goalies worth keeping an eye on, and that could be one of the most interesting parts of rookie camp.

Hampton Slukynsky

Another name I’m excited to talk about is Hampton Slukynsky, who was selected by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. He is now moving into a bigger stage in his development and will have a chance to show what he can do at rookie camp. He posted a 2-0-0 record with a 1.00 goals-against average (GAA) and a .957 save percentage (SV%) in his professional career. As one of the Kings’ young goaltending prospects, Slukynsky is definitely someone I’ll be keeping an eye on.

Vojtěch Čihař

Vojtěch Čihař is another prospect who has a lot of potential. Los Angeles drafted him 59th overall in 2025, and he was named MVP of the 2026 World Junior Championship after putting up 12 points in seven games for Czechia. The Czech native also joined the Kelowna Rockets of the Western Hockey League (WHL) in 2025-26 and had 31 points in 31 games. He can play both center and wing, which gives the Kings some flexibility. It will be interesting to see how he continues to develop and what kind of role he could have in the future.

Carter George

Lastly, Carter George is one of the Kings’ most interesting young goalies as he was selected in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft, and he has already shown that he can handle big moments. He had a strong World Junior Championship with Canada in 2025-26 and continues to develop as one of the organization’s top young goalies. George is known for his positioning, hockey sense and ability to read the game, which are all important qualities for a young goalie. With the Kings looking toward the future in net, George could eventually become an important part of the organization. Rookie camp will give him another chance to show how much he has improved. There is still a lot of work ahead of him, but the 6-foot-1 prospect is one Kings fans should keep an eye on as he continues to develop.

Future Is Bright

There’s a lot to be excited about with this year’s Kings rookie camp. The organization has several talented prospects who could have a big future in Los Angeles. I’m looking forward to seeing which players stand out and make the most of this opportunity. Rookie camp is just the beginning, but it should give us a good look at what’s to come.
