Vermont field hockey cruises past Long Island University

Catamounts score nine times in a 9-0 shoutout against the Sharks

The University of Vermont field hockey team returned to home turf with a dominant performance.

The Catamounts blanked the Long Island University Sharks for a 9-0 win. The nine goals in a single game tie a program record set back in 2005 against the University of Maryland – Baltimore County Retrievers.

Vermont featured ample scoring off the bench, with five goals coming from their substitutes. Jaime Lewid led the way with a hat trick while Isi McMahon and Gloria Allen added a goal apiece.

Vermont’s starters tallied four goals, featuring a pair by Addie Delorefice. Maddy Weaver and Emily Enden also added a goal apiece.
