Three players who spent time with the Atlanta Gladiators during the 2025-26 season were among those representing the Nashville Predators organization at the 2026 Prospect Showcase.
Goaltender T.J. Semptimphelter and forwards Kalan Lind and Austin Roest were part of Nashville’s 23-player group for games against the Carolina Hurricanes prospects on Sunday and Tampa Bay Lightning prospects on Monday.
The two-day showcase offered another look at three players whose paths crossed through Atlanta last season before Nashville shifts its attention to training camp.
A Strong Start Against Carolina
Nashville opened the showcase Sunday with a 4-1 victory over Carolina, using a scoreless first period before taking control in the second.
Michel Myloserdnyy opened the scoring before Cole O’Hara added a power-play goal to make it 2-0. Carolina cut the lead to one in the third, but Aiden Fink restored Nashville’s two-goal advantage before Vitali Pinchuk added an empty-net goal to finish the 4-1 victory.
Nashville also came out on top in the shootout, with its goaltenders turning aside all 10 Carolina attempts.
T.J. Semptimphelter
Semptimphelter got the start between the pipes and handled the opening 30 minutes before Ben Hrebik took over for the second half of the game.
The 24-year-old kept Carolina off the board throughout his appearance and came up with several timely stops, including a breakaway save near the end of his 30 minutes that was brought up again during Monday’s broadcast.
It was another opportunity for Semptimphelter to build on a rookie professional season in which Atlanta became his primary stop. His scoreless showing against Carolina gave him another chance to work in front of Nashville’s staff before training camp.
Kalan Lind
Semptimphelter wasn’t Atlanta’s only connection in Sunday’s lineup. Lind, a second-round selection by Nashville in the 2023 NHL Draft, also appeared against Carolina after spending part of his first professional season with the Gladiators.
Lind made his presence felt early in Sunday’s game. During the first period, he dropped the gloves with Carolina defenseman Charles-Alexis Legault after Legault took exception to a hit from Lind.
The exchange put the physical side of Lind’s game on display early in the showcase and gave Nashville another look at the 21-year-old forward as he continues his development.
Nashville Battles Back Against Tampa Bay
Nashville returned to action Monday, looking to close out its two-game showcase with another victory, but Tampa Bay put the Predators in an early hole.
The Lightning struck first and carried a 1-0 advantage into the second period. Nashville responded when David Edstrom tied the game on the power play with just under nine minutes remaining in the frame. Myloserdnyy then scored later in the period, giving him a goal for the second consecutive day and sending Nashville into the second intermission with a 2-1 advantage.
The Predators added another goal in the third and held off Tampa Bay down the stretch for a 3-1 victory. Combined with Sunday’s win over Carolina, Nashville finished the showcase with victories in both games and outscored its opponents 7-2.
Nashville also came away with the shootout result against Tampa Bay, winning 3-2.
Kalan Lind
Lind returned to Nashville’s lineup Monday for his second appearance in as many days. After bringing a physical element against Carolina, he found opportunities to get involved around the puck against Tampa Bay.
During the second period, Lind regained possession and worked the puck toward the front of the Tampa Bay net, helping create an opportunity that forced a save. He was involved around the crease again during the third period as Nashville worked to maintain its advantage.
Across the two games, Lind had opportunities to show more than one element of his game. His physicality drew attention Sunday, while Monday provided chances for him to become involved in the offensive zone.
Austin Roest
Austin Roest provided another familiar name for Gladiators fans in Monday’s lineup. Roest was involved early in the third period with Nashville protecting a 2-1 lead. The Predators had already battled back from a one-goal deficit in the second, so they focused on managing possession and limiting Tampa Bay’s opportunities as the game moved into its final 20 minutes. Roest continued to get shifts as Nashville worked through that one-goal situation before eventually creating some breathing room.
The Atlanta Connection Continues
The three players arrived at the showcase with different experiences in Atlanta behind them. Semptimphelter spent the bulk of his rookie season with the Gladiators, while Lind and Roest each had their own stops in Atlanta before continuing within the Nashville organization.
For Semptimphelter, his season in Atlanta also meant sharing the crease with Ethan Haider. The two developed into one of the ECHL’s stronger goaltending tandems during the 2025-26 season, with Haider finishing with 24 wins and Semptimphelter adding 20.
That success in Atlanta was part of the conversation during Monday’s Prospect Showcase broadcast as the crew discussed Nashville’s depth in net and looked back at Semptimphelter’s performance against Carolina. They pointed to the “few big stops” he made Sunday that kept the game scoreless before Nashville eventually pulled away, along with the breakaway save that closed out his 30-minute appearance (Nashville Predators, 2026b).
It was a fitting connection back to a rookie season in which Semptimphelter and Haider gave Atlanta stability in net throughout the year.
What Comes Next
Nashville completed the two-day showcase with victories over both Carolina and Tampa Bay, closing out an early look at the organization’s prospects before training camp begins.
For Gladiators fans, the hope is naturally to see Semptimphelter, Lind and Roest continue climbing, whether that means establishing themselves in the AHL or eventually earning an opportunity at the NHL level. Their paths could still bring any of them back through the ECHL along the way, and perhaps even Atlanta. Either way, having watched part of their development in a Gladiators sweater gives Atlanta fans a few more familiar names to follow as they take their next steps.
