Nick Kypreos reveals the three potential pieces in a trade for Mark Scheifele.
The price would be steep, according to his information.
“The Canadiens have their eye on him; It would…be a hefty price that could include prospect Michael Hage…Oliver Kapanen…(Kirby Dach is wrapped up in this too).”

Michael Hage confirmed this week that this season will be his last at Michigan (NCAA) before signing with the Canadiens, so it would be very difficult to trade him.
Canadiens face a major long-term decision if Winnipeg demands Michael Hage for Mark Scheifele
Marco D’Amico had also confirmed that Michigan would use Hage as its No. 1 center this season with an eye toward his arrival in Montreal.
It’s difficult, then, to imagine Kent Hughes wanting to part with this piece after patiently waiting for his development for years.
Oliver Kapanen, meanwhile, remains out of the regular lineup despite taking part in practices over the past week.
He is still dealing with discomfort.
Kirby Dach also continues to be the subject of trade rumors, including the Edmonton Oilers’ persistent interest revealed earlier this week, but it would take quite a bit more to acquire Mark Scheifele.
His six-year contract at $8.5 million per season would make such an acquisition particularly complicated from a salary-cap standpoint, but it’s very doable!
That kind of asking price shows just how highly Winnipeg still values its veteran center despite his advanced age for an NHL star.
This is certainly a situation worth watching closely over the next few weeks considering what’s at stake.
Kent Hughes will have to decide whether sacrificing Hage, his future piece at center, is really worth it for a 33-year-old player.
And you, what would your offer to the Winnipeg Jets be to acquire 100-point forward Mark Scheifele?
