The New York Rangers are expected to search for a goaltender on the trade market following Igor Shesterkin’s apparent leg injury, according to ESPN’s Emily Kaplan.

Per Kaplan, Jonathan Quick coming out of retirement and returning to the Rangers is also a possibility. Quick now serves as New York’s director of goaltending development after appearing in 25 games last season.

Shesterkin was ruled out for the remainder of the Rangers’ 2026-27 campaign due to an injury that occurred during a matchup with the Washington Capitals on Friday.
