Los Angeles Kings News & Notes
Los Angeles was one of three California stops on Florida’s early-season road trip, a swing in which every game was decided by a single goal and two went to overtime. The Panthers came away with six of a possible eight points on the trip. The Kings had trimmed their roster in the days before the season, assigning five players to AHL Ontario and placing five on waivers on Sept. 24, with further training camp moves announced Sept. 27.
Vegas Golden Knights News & Notes
Vegas will be without Victor Olofsson for the near future. The forward left last week’s game against Seattle with an injury and has since been deemed week-to-week, leaving the club short its leading goal scorer. The team has called the absence a loss it will have to absorb, with no firm timetable attached to his return. Olofsson had been producing at the time of the injury, making the timing awkward for a lineup still sorting out its scoring depth.

Players To Watch
Brandt Clarke — Los Angeles Kings
Box Score Junkie has Clarke at a 66.7% Corsi-for and 74.0% Fenwick through 59 minutes this season, with 71.3 shot attempts for per 60 and 2.0 high-danger expected goals generated while he’s on the ice. The finish hasn’t followed — no goals on 0.3 expected — so the shot props look live.
Jack Eichel — Vegas Golden Knights
Eichel put up a goal and an assist on six shots in 26:38 last time out, more ice time and more pucks on net than anyone on either roster. With Victor Olofsson out of the lineup, Vegas leans harder on that line, and six-shot nights make the over on his shot total worth a look.
