Expedia has been named the National Hockey League’s (NHL) official travel partner in the United States and Canada under a multi-year agreement that combines broadcast visibility, digital fan engagement and travel-booking opportunities.

The partnership strengthens the league’s commercial portfolio as it continues to attract brands across consumer services, technology and entertainment.

Under the agreement, Expedia will receive exclusive marketing rights across online travel agencies, vacation rentals and hotels in both markets. The company will feature on the NHL’s digitally enhanced dasherboards during regular-season games and the Stanley Cup Playoffs, alongside activations at NHL All-Star Weekend, the Heritage Classic, Winter Classic and Stadium Series.

Expedia will also become the presenting sponsor of the Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge and Second Chance Bracket. Additionally, NHL.com will provide travel-booking opportunities linked to regular-season fixtures and playoff games, connecting fans’ interest in live hockey with Expedia’s accommodation and travel services.

Tracey Weber, General Manager, Expedia, said, “NHL fans will go near and far to support their team. We’re excited to partner with the NHL to help fans easily plan and book trips to cheer on their favourite team, whether it’s travelling for a regular season game or flying across the country for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. From takeoff to puck drop, Expedia can help fans get there, stay there and make the most of every NHL travel experience, while saving when they bundle flights, hotels and more.”

George Dudas, NHL Vice President, Business Development, added, “We’re thrilled to welcome Expedia as our Official Travel Partner at such an exciting time for the League. Our fans are at the centre of everything we do, and this partnership gives our fans new ways to combine travel and memorable NHL moments — from the start of the season through the Stanley Cup Playoffs.”

The announcement follows a series of commercial additions to the NHL’s sponsorship portfolio. Degree became the league’s official deodorant partner in the US, while Sofascore entered a global partnership to enhance hockey statistics and fan experiences using NHL EDGE positional data. Adobe joined as the NHL’s official creative, marketing and AI partner, Michelob ULTRA became an official beer sponsor in the US, and DoorDash was named the league’s official on-demand delivery and pick up partner across the US and Canada.

The timing coincides with an active start to the 2026–27 NHL season. Carolina extended their winning streak to six games with a 4–2 victory over Washington on October 13, while Edmonton defeated Los Angeles 4–1 to maintain their unbeaten record in regulation through six games.

The league’s upcoming calendar also includes the Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic on October 25, when Winnipeg will host the outdoor event. Such marquee fixtures provide valuable opportunities for sponsors to connect with fans through live broadcasts, digital activations and in-person experiences.

For Expedia, the partnership offers access to a highly engaged North American sports audience and a potential pathway from sponsorship exposure to travel bookings. Financial terms and the exact duration of the agreement have not been disclosed.
