Donald Carlson – Inside The Rink
The defending Stanley Cup Champions got some tough news yesterday as captain Jordan Staal will be out 1-2 months with a partially torn calf muscle. He suffered the injury during a pregame warm-up. Staal was out last night in Carolina’s 4-2 win over the Capitals. Jesperi Kotkaniemi slid into the lineup for Staal. Carolina also saw Taylor Hall leave last night’s win with an upper-body injury. Hall’s injury led to the Hurricanes recalling forward Bradly Nadeau.
