According to recent reports a serious Eastern Conference contender is reportedly looking to secure New York Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad as they look to complete their offensive core.
Recent reports have indicated that the Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking to add a second-line center (maybe even two centers) this offseason. As their lack of depth up the middle seemed to be problematic throughout the year, especially during the playoffs.
With that being said, the Toronto Maple Leafs organization will have their hands full this offseason as theres plenty of talk surrounding pending UFA John Tavares, Mitch Marner, David Kampf and even Max Domi as a potential buyout candidate.

According to reports from Jonas Siegel of The Athletic, theres about nine center targets the Toronto Maple Leafs will be looking at this offseason, and one of them being New York Rangers star forward Mika Zibanejad.The Big Swings

However, as many already know Mika Zibanejad has a full no-move clause, and still has five years remaining at an $8.5 cap hit, and is coming off a bit of a down year as he managed to tally 62 points (20 G, 42 A) in 82 games played.
Siegel stated that if Mika is somehow attainable:
“the Leafs need to have a meeting or two about it because Zibanejad is probably the best player in this entire bunch.”
Like all things, only time will tell what will actually happen to Mika Zibanejad and the Maple Leafs as he has a full no-movement clause and doesn’t seem to to interested in a trade this offseason.
